They create a world where narratives are simultaneously suggested and undermined; a process which is heightened still further by the accompanying texts by Gray’s long-time collaborator, the poet Paul Summers.
David Gray’s photographs are freely yet inquisitively collected, compiled without preconception or fixed opinion, edited to conjure an ambience of the space; built instinctively and naturally on the back of day to day decisions and a ’wherever the road leads’ outlook.
David Gray graduated from Swansea's Photography in the Arts Degree in 1999. Since then his work has appeared regularly in magazines and exhibitions.
Publications include Cunawabi, Cunawabi II, Vampire, Surge, Thunderbolt’s Way and Drift. His latest project has been The Dream that Days Break Portfolio book and print series, in which David has set about editing his back-catalogue into concise narratives chronicling his photographic explorations to date.
