About

David Gray’s photographs are both starkly human and ethereal; they play with reality, individual assumption and imagination. They create a world where narratives are simultaneously suggested and undermined;
— Paul Summers

They create a world where narratives are simultaneously suggested and undermined; a process which is heightened still further by the accompanying texts by Gray’s long-time collaborator, the poet Paul Summers.

David Gray’s photographs are  freely yet inquisitively collected, compiled without preconception or fixed opinion, edited to conjure an ambience of the space; built instinctively and naturally on the back of day to day decisions and a ’wherever the road leads’ outlook.
